MARI MIRANDA

Hi! I am Maricela Miranda, my short name is ¨Mari¨. I was born in Quito the capital of Ecuador

In 1988 I joined Camp Hope as a volunteer, I helped in various positions throughout the organization and within two years I became the director of their newly created Day Care Center. I helped them as part of the board of directors for a short period and I stopped working as an employee for Camp Hope on July 2005, but always I have been involved with the organization due to the amazing job that they do for the children that they serve and their families.

During all those years one of my positions at Camp Hope was to coordinate the groups of volunteers who visited the organization and in 1996 I started working with the team leaders that Global Volunteers sent to coordinate the teams. On May 2000 I started working with this organization as a team leader and later became the Country Manager.

My experience at Camp Hope and almost the 9 years working with Global Volunteers gave me a great passion about working with people from different countries who want to make a contribution to the world.

Knowing that I am making a difference for the people in need in my country working together with people who are commited to help others to have a better life is very rewarding for me, besides that I love the opportunity to always make friends, and keep very nice friendships around the globe.

I want to continue supporting Camp Hope in ways that I can, and I am looking forward to have the opportunity to coordinate volunteer groups that are supporting this great organization and have a heart to serve.

Leading teams for me is a great opportunity to serve not only to the Ecuadorians, but to every person who came to support my people in the country and need some orientation to have a succesfull and fullfiling experience.
